2 Black Bands Posted August 16, 2020 Share Posted August 16, 2020 Just as a matter of interest, are you doing the wire-wooling/sand-papering of the numbers or did they all come to you like that? Gildwiller1918 Posted August 16, 2020 Share Posted August 16, 2020 Most of the helmets were simply sanded with sandpaper, but that is how I got most of them over the years. I collect them by the heat lot number, which until recently was not a big deal with collectors. Sometimes even when sanded they can be difficult to read, as some stamps were not crisp and clear to begin with.
