Greg
Brought back from Germany, was a gift from my mother in law I'm just getting into German Medals so do not know much about this. She states it is a flag dedication medal. The casting is crude but would have been since so few would be made and just for the unit. However it is dated which is great! Rear states: Fahnenweihe D. Militarverein Cölln U. Umgegend (rough translation is Flag Dedication of the Cölln Military Unit) 4/11/1883 Cölln is just outside Bautzen in Saxony.
