Eddieq
So, I was sorting through some items to move on and whilst examining them I had a very close look at a black wound badge that I’ve had for some time, which I thought was unmarked. However, under high magnification there is a K and Q near the pin hinge and a faint 65 at the bottom of the badge. I have other K&Q wound badges which have a very clear imprinted 65 on the back of the helmet. Not seen a maker mark like this before but then I didn’t know this badge was marked in anyway until an hour ago!! Anyone familiar with this particular method of K & Q marking or is it fake? I hope the pictures show the marking as it’s very hard to distinguish. Cheers E

Eddieq
Thank you - I thought it was original but as I say I’ve others which have a clearly imprinted 65 on them - the only one I have with a similar style maker mark is one by Eduard Hahn, Oberstein.
Kenny Andrew
Hi Eddie, yes that one is fine, it's a mid war version, if you look very closely between the lower retaining catch and 65 maker mark there should be a 42 stamped which is the year of manufacture.
