Eddieq
An early grouping of documents has come to me relating to an early Vienna SA member called Franz Hofbauer. As far as I’ve been able to ascertain, the Vaterlandischer Schutzbund was an early NSDAP organisation used as bodyguards/thugs during political gatherings. Here is his 1933 Schutzbund ID card, his NSDAP Fursorgeshein, and his SA contribution card - a fairly rare grouping I believe. It’s difficult to find much information on this organisation - anyone know of any good specific sources of info?
Fritz
You could try some archives, such as the Bundesarchiv in Berlin and other cities.
Eddieq
Also got another HUGE SA grouping through today, two photo albums, two hand drawn sketch books and a whole package of documents from 1930’s membership, through Reichfuhrer Schule , his wartime service in the cavalry and his post war activity up to around 1955 - including veterans vacations and gatherings - this will take some time to catalogue!!!
