NELSON
The Kriegsmarine dagger has a pommel made from brass or bronze in the shape of the national emblem with turned down wings and has a celluloid grip with twisted wire. The crossguard has a lock button to secure the dagger in the scabbard and the purchaser had a option of a plain blade or a etched design. During the period 1942 to 1944 the quality was in decline and a mixture of parts both brass and pot-metal can be found in the dagger. The dagger in the picture is in very good condition with no cracks chips or dents, it has a brass scabbard and the blade is double etched by the maker Carl Eickhorn
