Greg
Leon, Are you sure photo 4 is of a Police vehicle? I have seen several of these vehicles in person in Germany - they were used by the Fire Departments in the cities as air raid rescue vehicles. They were painted green. Stretchers and ladders were on the roof and the trailer carried a chainsaw, handsaw, water pumps and rescue kit not in the main body of the truck. I'll see if I can dig out my photos of some to compare, I got to see the trucks used in Dresden that survuved the raids there - now in semi-private collections housed just outside the city. leon21
Hi Greg, it may have been a fire/rescue truck, but the number plate on it reads ( SS.POL 59368), which relates to a Stuttgart garrison. Each branch of the services had a range of license numbers available which were given out to the various subordinated units. The number block for Wehrkreis V Stuttgart was 50.000-59.999, these were given to peace time garrisons for vehicles before the outbreak of war and shortly after.
