Wolf
Hi guys. Here is a stick pin I bought & it was described as a WW2 Luftwaffe emblem stick pin. I have tried to research this one but can't seem to identify it. Isthere any one out there who might know whether this is a pin attributed to a Luftwaffe squadron. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Wolf.
Kenny Andrew
Hi Wolf, I have never come across this pin before, could be a squadron badge, then again it could anything from the German state, the German Luftwaffe stick pins I have come across tend to have a knurled pin where this one is plain which makes me think it might not be that period. Perhaps Fritz would know what it is?
Wolf
Thanks Kenny. I speculated when I bought it. I only paid $5 delivered. Anyway I'm sure I will stumble on what it's about down the track, as I'm always looking. Cheers Wolf.
Fritz
This post should not be on the Aviation Forum! No idea, it could be of German manufacture. A coat of arms with several heraldic eagles on a "lined" background, no colouring, just gold. Would be worth further research., but sorry, I have no idea, I would try looking under crests and coats of arms, German, to see if it is German / Austrian at all. One possibility is Siebmacher's Wappenbücher, which are very extensive, may be online, and show all coats of arms from the earliest times, 1605 - ca. 1960 - the book was available as a reprint about 25 years ago, and cost ca. DM 99 https://data.cerl.org/siebmacher/_search?lang=de (European Research Libraries) Apparently, Siebmacher covers most of Europe Example of the Siebmacher's pages, this one for cities - Reichs Städte (with old spelling, Reychs=Stätte), there are also pages for family names.
