Fritz
Just heard that one of Hermann Göring's uniforms, a tunic, is up for auction at a renowned Munich auctioneers as from 24th October till 5th November. It is one of his white double breasted tunics, with all complete insignia, but without decorations. I saw a similar example at a Hamburg dealers just nearly two years ago. I wonder if this is the same one The starting price is from 120.000 Euros ! At the same time, a military pilots badge in gold/silver and diamonds belonging to Generaloberst Bruno Loerzer is available from 65.000 Euros An unattributed Knights Cross with oakleaves and swords by Juncker, complete with case is starting at 14.000 Euros. This auctioneer even had a Messerschmitt 109 - without motor just a couple of years ago. I think the starting price was around 120.000 Euros. All very interesting.
Fritz
The auction was for the 12th May 2015. The Me 109 was priced at 150.000 and only reached that sum. Auctioneers were expecting much more. Details of the purchaser are not to be disclosed but rumour is, that it is going to Turkey, to a museum there. What a waste! Shame that there were no European investors with enough money to save this historic aircraft. The Me was completely restored as a non-airworthy exhibit "gelbe Eins" (1), but no motor. The aircraft had been restored by an Austrian, Wolfgang Falch with his Sandy Air Corporation
