Fritz
Forgot to mention, in the first k.u.k. postcard, the ghostly figure looming up from the Alp is Andreas Hofer, a Tyrolian freedom fighter during the Napoleonic wars, who fought from the mountains against French and Bavarian troops around 1809. He was finally betrayed and captured by French troops and taken to Mantua, where he was executed by firing squad in 1810. He is regarded as a martyr and heroic figure in the region still today. He was also portrayed in the film "Der Rebell" (1932) by Luis Trenker
