Props and Pistons event

Took the grandkids to their first air display yesterday, a props and pistons special fund raising event. It was

held at the Lincolnshire Aviaition Heritage Centre at East Keal, have'nt been for a while so we give it a go,It

turned out to be a great day allround, here's some of the pics I took.

great photos there, not sure of the grenade hanging off the rifle sling in the last photo though, jeeps are bouncy... ouch!

Great photos Leon, i love the Lancaster photos :)

 

That Jeep in the very last pic looks like it has an incredibly dented hood :D

Hi RAF tried to take photo's of the Lancaster with the props spinning but my camera is only a little basic kodak

easyshare, will have to buy a model that I can change the speed setting to catch the movement of the props.

Great photos - thanks for posting Leon. I love the sound of the Mustang's engine in flight, a wonderful aircraft made by the marriage of a US airframe to a RR engine. The Dakota is one of my favorites as well, a real workhorse. I'd love to fly in one, that and a Ju52/3m.

 

The grenade is an example of how restorers and modellers make great jobs of their projects but can lack military "common sense" at times. Full marks to the restorers however for keeping history alive.
