very interesting. nice job too, pity he did not blue the scabbard too instead of painting it

Exactly what I thought, but the scabbard was restored with Spachtelmaße (filler), so couldn't be blued, iron was too damaged and full of little holes

I agree but he metal soldered the blade so could have done that with the scabbard too, then blued it

It's a shame he went to all that work and ended up with an incorrect parade scabbard.
