Just got a new reference book in titled: Rifle & Carbine 98, M98 Firearms of the German Army from 1898 to 1918, By Dieter Storz. It has 457 pages loaded with photos, charts and documentation about WW1 era G98 rifles. Great reference material that includes manufacturing data, along with accessories such as slings, bandoliers, bayonets to grenade launchers and specialty equipment. A very comprehensive and well-done book. If you are looking for a refence book on main German rifle of WW1, this is one you should check out.

But Engilsh versions are pushing $200 per copy. Likewise the 3rd party Press  (Karem& Steves) K98 sets have doubled in price. All out of print.  All primary references: Gew 88, Gew 98, K98k. Goodies.

 The Gew 88 book is also fantastic. The German Military Rifles Vol. 2 is on the Gew 88 and 91 and includes target & drill versions and the bayonets and cartridge cases. Storz's book areprinted in German & English versions.

 

Likewise if one is into pistols a Schiffer book is in print and not too bad for price that is also interesting: German military Rifles and Machine Pistols.
