I would appreciate peoples opinions these WW1 Iron Cross 2nd class that I have.  Both are 3 piece construction with magnetic core.  The one on the left has a makers mark on the suspension ring but I can't make it out.  The core on this one is  smoother with no pitting and I suspect may have been repainted as the finish looks too good.  The one on the right has no makers mark that I can see.  I am going to sell one as I don't need 2 in my collection but I would like to keep the best one, but I don't know enough to decide which that is.  Although I think both are genuine I am not sure and would welcome the opinions of people who know more about these

Tough question, always hard to tell if a cross is repainted from photos alone. It does look as if it could be repainted, in this case I would keep the non maker marked version. You can always keep an eye out for a maker marked one later on and upgrade it.

The second letter is obviously a W, the first letter is miss stamped, hard to tell, this happened often.
S&W or SW would be Sy & Wagner, Berlin, but it doesn't quite look like an S
