Alan329 Posted July 15, 2024 Author Posted July 15, 2024 1914-18. I bought it on ebay from France. It was framed in a very old poor quality frame together with the Medaile Millitaire and the certificate of issue. It had obviously been in there since the first world war and I think was disposed of as part of a house clearance. I paid £20 which is very sad for something that clearly meant so much to the relatives of the dead soldier. Translation of Médaille Militaire and Croix de Guerre award certificate Ministry For The War Médaille Militaire 31 Regiment of infantry By ministerial decree of 17 May 1920 returned pursuant to the decrees of August 13 1914 and 1 October 1918 published in Official Journal of October 12 1920 the Médaille Militaire was allotted to the memory of the soldier Jouine Felix Bienvenue DIED FOR FRANCE Good and brave soldier who was gravely injured on 24 July 1918 at his post as lookout. Died as a result of his injuries. Croix de Guerre with bronze star 5 Quote
