Thoughts on this M42 helmet please

Yes looks like winter camouflage, but not the best condition, probably ground dug.

There would not have been winter camouflage inside the helmet, could this have been a sand colour for southern front?

Good point Fritz, I agree not winter camo, southern front or just ordinance tan, looks like traces of a Luftwaffe decal too.

Yes, a Luftwaffe decal, hardly noticeable.

Personally I would pay a bit more and get a better example, mind you I'm just not keen on ground dug items

Prices are high nowadays for good shells and orig. paintwork, but I think 300 is a bit much considering.

I’m not sure it’s ground dug, just doesn’t feel/ look ‘un-put together’.

Any markings (not decals)/ numbering visible.

I'm not 100% sure it's ground dug either Eddie, it depends on the type of soil it was in, but it has certainly been open to the elements.

300 seems a bit high to me, as I can get shells in much better condition for cheaper than this offer. But if you really like it/want it, go for it.

seems to be allot of things being found in barns these days, most are suspect
