Shoulder pieces were not worn by officers on the normal Bordjacke, these had cuff rank rings, etc. The shoulder pieces also normally displayed the cypher of the branch of service. These indicated would be for normal seafaring or navigation branch - Allgemeine Seefahrt oder Nautische Richtung. Die 2. Unterseebootsflottille, auch als U-Bootsflottille „Saltzwedel“ bekannt, wurde am 1. Reverse has scratched owners name, K. Witte A later war Minesweeper badge / Minensucherabzeichen by Otto Placzek, Ausf. Schwerin, Berlin. May 1945, the Commander of the U-Boats, Karl Dönitz issued the order that all U-Boats in enemy waters are to surface, and as a sign of the capitulation, to set the navigation lights on full and to hoist the black flag. Nach der Kapitulation der Wehrmacht am 8. A nice presentation piece, period constructed (or commissioned) by the seaman from the Panzerschiff Deutschland, from her Spanish Civil War service prior to her renaming as the Lutzow. It shows a picture of him in uniform, his insignia, cap tally, Spanish Civil War medal and wound badge.
