Hi, fairly new to the collecting world but have been using a well established collector/seller to buy from however, I have come across this WW2 Iron Cross 1st Class and wanted to ask what your views are on whether it is genuine? The makers mark appears correct as in Wilhelm Deumer, Leudenscheid but as I have been getting to understand it is not unusual for the fakers to copy these maker marks. I am unable to physically look at the medal so only have these photos to go by. Any advice greatly appreciated. Cheers

Hi Jut, these L/11 with rough backs are considered copies unfortunately

Thanks Kenny Andrew for the heads up on that, really appreciate it as it has potentially saved me quite a few quid. Any recommendations for a book as a reference point? Cheers

No problem Jut,  The Iron Cross 1. Class by Dietrich Maerz is probably the best book on the Iron Cross first class
