Very nice. Ribbons look new, don't go polishing the medals, this wears them down.

New ribbons 

I have  a few sets were they have been polished not by myself I will post some more rifle brigade Victorian medals got a Crimea with original ribbon somewhere.

i have had most of my Vic medals aleast 20-30 years been collecting about 40years.

stopped the last 10 years but kept what I had just want to show some on the forum.

going to start again with German pairs and groups.

Yes, of course, the veterans were known to polish everything, but this is harmfull in the end. Better to just leave them as they are. A wash with some warm water and a mild detergent, and a thorough rinse and dry afterwards is enough to bring back some of the lustre and remove grime and polish residue. Ribbons should normally not be washed, the colours on British ribbons are not indelible and colours tend to run and stain other colours, so this should be avoided. If anything a moderate ironing under a wet cotton handkerchief will brighten them up and reset them.
