Fritz Posted March 26, 2021 Share Posted March 26, 2021 Yes, of course, the veterans were known to polish everything, but this is harmfull in the end. Better to just leave them as they are. A wash with some warm water and a mild detergent, and a thorough rinse and dry afterwards is enough to bring back some of the lustre and remove grime and polish residue. Ribbons should normally not be washed, the colours on British ribbons are not indelible and colours tend to run and stain other colours, so this should be avoided.
