Hador
Got this helmet for my collection but can't identificate it. It's steel, magnetic but very light. I think it's something like civil defence.
Kenny Andrew
Hello Hador, welcome to the forum, It is an unusual helmet, but I agree with you that it is a civil defence helmet. A military helmet would always have a star to the front. It is unusual to see the four air vent holes which were a feature of the military type 90 helmets. I have never seen a civil defence helmet with these military style vent holes before.

Kenny Andrew
I'm sure someone will know exactly what it is, sometimes these things just take a little time until the right person comes along

72 usmc
An odd one that I think is post WW II, just a guess. No jungle patina and it looks too fresh? Here is a guy with a nice collection and 3 pages of photos: https://www.worldmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/317433-20-years-of-japanese-helmets/page/2/ https://fortunesofwarmilitaria.com/camouflage-painted-japanese-type-90-steel-helmet-for-the-army-and-navy/ https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/japanese-militaria/evolution-japanese-army-steel-helmet-1918-1945-revised-expanded-version-589930-11/
Fritz
Possibly early cold war period, certainly civil defence.
