Gildwiller1918
Here is my WW2 dated M1 Garand rifle, serial number 496328, which puts manufacture at February of 1942. Although at war now, the US had to still ramp up production of these rifles, during the month of February 1942, Springfield made 35,000 rifles, compared to later in 1943 when they made over 100,000 per month. All the parts have the correct stamps and are correct for a model made this early in the war. The gas cylinder lock screw is the early single slot type, which will not work with the grenade launcher adapter. Later models had a 4 way slot to accommodate the launcher. A nice example of a early war made rifle, and in the correct configuration.
