Gildwiller1918 Posted July 29, 2020 Share Posted July 29, 2020 Here is a nice WW1 era British No. 27 grenade introduced in 1916. These also could be used on rifles as they had a threaded hole in the bottom for a rod. These grenades were filled with White Phosphorus, a particularly nasty substance that caused injuries to personnel by inhalation of the vapors produced by the chemical and by burns to the body.
