WW1 Era British No.27 Grenade

Recommended Posts

Here is a nice WW1 era British No. 27 grenade introduced in 1916. These also could be used on rifles as they had a threaded hole in the bottom for a rod. These grenades were filled with White Phosphorus, a particularly nasty substance that caused injuries to personnel by inhalation of the vapors produced by the chemical and by burns to the body. The WP reacts with oxygen and can burn very intensely until covered or extinguished.
