Gildwiller1918
Here is a full box of US "C" rations, which held 12 meals. Individual meals are still common, but full sealed cases are getting hard to come by. Just one of the individual meals with a desired date can go for over $125.

Fritz
Vietnam: "Dien Bien Phu became the Stalingrad of the white man", it was probably the last battle fought by the Waffen-SS. Many Wehrmacht and especially Waffen-SS prisoners of war were faced with being pressed into the French Foreign legion or facing a war crimes trial. Over two thirds of the Légionnaires in Vietnam were veterans of the former Waffen-SS. Many fell in Vietnam. https://www.welt.de/geschichte/article127710149/Dien-Bien-Phu-die-letzte-Schlacht-der-Waffen-SS.html
Gildwiller1918
Interesting story Fritz. The legion has always had an attraction for soldiers, sometimes unwillingly. Unfortunately, the US forces repeated many of the mistakes the French made during the conflict.
