Gildwiller1918
Nice period image of French infantrymen, they are armed with the Fusil Mle 1907/15, which had a 3 round en bloc clip, the later model, the Fusil Modele 1916 held a 5 round clip . On the soldier in the front, you can see the slot where the clip falls out just before the trigger when empty. The soldier on the right is carrying the spade shovel or Pelle-bêche, M1879. It is hard to tell what the others are carrying, but a nice example of soldier from 1915 onwards. 4

Gildwiller1918
Colorized image of an early war Poilu, he is armed with the M1886/93 Lebel Rifle, he is also wearing what looks like the simplified M1914 2nd type Kepi. Note the daffodil yellow (jonquille) collar insignia (pattes de collet), this was used in late 1914 to early 1915 until replaced by the horizon blue insignia.

Gildwiller1918
Early war image of a French soldier from the 152 infantry. He is armed with the Fusil Gras mle 1874 or Chassepot Fusil modèle 1866, the rifles are virtually identical based upon exterior appearance. The rifle is equipped with the French Model 1866 Yataghan Sword Bayonet. In WW1, large amounts of obsolete weapons were used in training roles and for rear guard units.
