Gildwiller1918
Here is a WW1 Era Turkish/Ottoman Empire M1909 belt buckle, these closely resemble the German M1895 type buckles in construction. The main body was brass with a nickel silver front plate. The plate reads "Asakir-i Sahane" which means roughly Sultans Army-Ottoman Army, there are 2 versions of this script, one with a large sweeping "S" on the Sahane writing and one that looks like a large "SL". The buckle below is the first type. This buckle is now being heavily reproduced.
