Austrian M1895 Bayonet

Here is a new acquired Austrian made bayonet with the scabbard. It is marked OE/WG which stood for Österreichische Waffenfabrik-Gesellschaft (Austrian State Weapons Manufacturing Company) in Steyr. This firm is still in business today, known simply as, Steyr. It has a unit stamp of 21 13, and appears to have a lion which I believe is for Bulgarian use which are harder to find and more rare than the Austrian marked versions.

The Austrian rifles and M1895  bayonets were exported to Bulgaria and were in demand especially during the Balkan Wars of 1912-1913. The lion stamp was added once the equipment made it to Bulgaria. The lion could face either left or right. Below is an example from the internet of another bayonet of this type with the lion facing left.

Two more variations of the knots. Top is silk with a metal K above the knot and the bottom bullion with an embroidered K. 

Note the top frog is post WW1 Bulgarian with a Bulgarian stamp to the rear.
