Gildwiller1918 Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 Is that from the new movie? Looks good, I have not seen the full film yet. 4 Quote
Kenny Andrew Posted November 29, 2019 Author Posted November 29, 2019 Yes, it's a scene from the 2011 film Isoroku Yamamoto C-in-C of the Combined Fleet, depicting the decisive American naval aviation attack on three of Nagumo's aircraft carriers that were central to the Japanese attack plan Akagi, Kaga and Soryuu during the fateful Battle of Midway 4th of June 1942 3 Quote
Gildwiller1918 Posted November 29, 2019 Posted November 29, 2019 Are you going to watch the new movie that is out in theaters now? Looks pretty good. 4 Quote

Gildwiller1918 Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 The new Midway movie released not long ago is very good. It has 6 months of timeline crammed into a well done movie, all the characters are real, no love story BS like Pearl Harbor. Well worth the watch. 4 Quote
72 usmc Posted June 23, 2024 Posted June 23, 2024 So who is old enough to remember Avalon Hill's war games? Midway was a great one. You had to be an older teen in 1964. One of the better academic books about Midway is the: Shattered Sword: The Untold Story of the Battle of Midway by Jonathan Parshall and A. Tully, 2007. Miracle at Midway is a focus on the entire battle also good. 5 Quote
