Gildwiller1918
Around the turn of the century the US military, especially the Army was going through a modernization of insignia, clothing, gear, etc. This uniform is from 1903, and was modified from older stocks and would be continued to be modified and tweaked into WW1. It has the turn down collar and the early 1902 pinback insignia on the collar which was disliked as they tended to fall off and were easily damaged (the round screw back disks eliminated this). The buttons are the correct rimless period buttons as well. A good early example piece.
