Just as a matter of interest, are you doing the wire-wooling/sand-papering of the numbers or did they all come to you like that?

Some UK Dealers use stripper or heat guns to expose the numbers which can make quite a mess.

Most of the helmets were simply sanded with sandpaper, but that is how I got most of them over the years. I collect them by the heat lot number, which until recently was not a big deal with collectors. Sometimes even when sanded they can be difficult to read, as some stamps were not crisp and clear to begin with. I even have one helmet with no stampings whatsoever, however the liner in marked and stamped properly.

Here's a WW2 Civil Defence helmet I've not seen before called the Victory Helmet made by  Eagleson & Co.
