Gildwiller1918 Posted August 25, 2019 Share Posted August 25, 2019 Here is another M1917, marked "ZC 191"It lacks the liner and chinstrap, but you can see the wool pad that was fixed to the copper rivet which held the leather straps for the helmet liner. Fritz Posted December 22, 2019 Share Posted December 22, 2019 Chinstraps can be carefully restored without replacing them. Some matching leather would replace any missing sections and they could be neatly joined.
