K98

I Bought this a few days ago! As I have been after a minty k98 bayonet since selling mine a few years back, this one was  manufactured by P.WEYERSBERG,  it's dated 1938 & as can be seen is waffenampt to the pomel, the scabbard is non numbers matched to the bayonet . This will look great next to my dress bayonet.

Very nice example and with the frog too! The 39 date on the blade spine is unusual for the period, this is seldom seen. I would think the bayonet has been reconditioned and re-blued at some stage, possibly period done.

I had a K98 several years ago made by E.u.F. Horster that was stamped 39 on the blade spine also.
