A Certain Book

A certain book, Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler has been very controversial till the present day. Recently the 70 year old rights, which were in the hands of the State of Bavaria, which is legally the rightfull heir to all worldly posessions of Adolf Hitler, including his works copyright, expired in 2015. A reprint has been made, but in an abridged form. It is incredible that such a book has been so controversial and caused such an uproar for so long. Personally, I read just over half of it many years ago, before taking a break. The book itself was perhaps very relevant in it's day, everyone had it in their bookshelf, not to have it was considered disloyal, but there was no compulsion to read it. Often given in elaborate presentation as a gift, it is something hardly anyone read at all, why all the controversy? This book is however, no longer of any relevance today, just a historic document for anyone interested in studying it.

This example is from 1939 in the old "Gothic" script, which was officially abolished by recommendation of the NSDAP in 1941.  Published by the Zentralverlag der NSDAP Franz Eher Nachfolger in München, which categorically belonged to Hitler personally. In very good condition and with almost perfect dust cover, which is seldom found. There is a dedication inside, as this was awarded as a prize for outstanding services to an airman in Kampfgeschwader Hindenburg Nr. 1, Feldwebel Heinz Jäger (Stabsstaffel). Rarely found in this condition and with intact dust cover.

The book as normally encountered in standard version without its dust cover, could easily be mistaken for a "Bible!" (right)
Amazing, but these two books have one thing in common, nobody reads them!
