1936 Film about the youth of Frederick The Great, the Father and Son Conflict. One of the series about the life and times of Frederick. English subtitles. Inspired by the state and watched over by Dr. Joseph Goebels, produced in the  famous film studios of the Defa in Babelsberg near Potsdam. Filmseries made between 1920 and 1942.

Der König überall - the King personally inspects his domains, the schools, churches, farms and his officials and province representantives - everything and everyone.

Justice and the courts was also personally overlooked by the King, he loathed corruption of any kind.

The Juristen-Talar was introduced during the Reign of Friedrich Wilhelm I., and is a feature of judicial courts till present.

The Tabakskollegium in Schloß Königs Wusterhausen. Friedrich Wilhelm I. in his element, relaxing after a hard day's work  in the company of his generals. Beer, strong tobacco and rough fun were the priorities here.  Frowned upon were luxury in general, French literature, latin and the catholic church, as well as anything which did not further the wellbeing of the state. All import goods were tabu, all requirments  had to manufactured in Prussia. The only import exceptions were Dutch tobacco and Dutch beer.

Kronprinz Friedrich suffers under the strict regime of his father, who was a house tyrant. The Crown Prince plans to desert with the aid of his friend Leutnant von Katte. The plan fails and Katte is condemned to death...

The court-martial in Köpenick condemns Leutnant von Katte to life long imprisonment. Furious, Friedrich Wilhelm tears up the verdict and personally rewrites a death sentence.

Kronprinz Friedrich was imprisoned in the Fortress of Küstrin until he repented. Küstrin was entirely destroyed in 1945 and was never rebuilt.

The bronze coffins of Friedrich Wilhelm I. and Friedrich II., remained here till 1944, when they were evacuated to a salt mine in Thüringen,
discovered by the Americans in 1945.
