Fritz Posted March 13, 2018 Share Posted March 13, 2018 RG 34 - Reinigungsgerät - Offical manual depicting cleaning accessories for K.98, consisting of pull-through chain, extractor tool, oil bottle and two brushes. The tin has twin compartments, one for the tools, the other is for grease and cleaning cloths. The metal container is of thin steel with a grey zinc finish, the hinged lids were held by spring clips, which were usually brass. The case is usually WaA stamped and with a dated makers name. An original example by Mundlos & Co., Magdeburg, 1938 with WaA 243 stamp, complete with all original contents, except for the extractor tool. Fritz Posted December 27, 2018 Author Share Posted December 27, 2018 Finally got the missing part for the above set - Hülsenkopfwischer - tool for the K 98, this one dated 1937 by Mundlos, Magdeburg - exactly matched to the above set. A K98 Frosch fitting for the carrying strap. Wehrmacht worn original, brown leather, steel button and base. Original Wehrmacht K98 leather sling. Was used post-war by Yugoslavian army. Poor storage condition, has been soaked in olive oil (commonplace in Mediterranen countries, but destroys the leather in time) and some slight insect or rodent damage in places, fragile, no longer usable, only suitable for display.
