British War Medal in Bronze

In WW1 the bronze war medal was awarded to those who had served as labourers and porters behind the lines.

Given  largely to Indian, Chinese, Maltese and South African Labour Corps, and those who served in the Maltese

and Macedonian Mule Corps.

Approximately 110,000 to 240,000 were issued making this a scarce medal, which is now being faked.

Below are two images of medals.

1st medal issued to a member of the Maltese Labour Corps.

2nd medal issued to a member of the Chinese Labour Corps.

Both have only recipients number and their units inscribed on them.
