New states are formed in Europe, Poland, Tschechoslowakia and the Baltic States. The Austrian Empire also broke up with the loss of Südtirol, Bosnia-Herzegovinia, the Karpathians and Slowenia. Hungary became a separate monarchist state with Admiral Horthy as a Regent. The third map shows the territorial losses as of 1945/46. Not shown here are the losses East of the Oder-Neisse Line and the inclusion of East Prussia into Russia and Poland.
