Flying Ace Ernst Udet, documentary partly in colour

Recommended Posts

Magnificent hair raising stunt flying in the 1920s and 30s by undoubtedly one of the best flyers of all time.

He was later tied to a desk and burdened with responsability, which was too much for him, he only wanted to fly.

The blame was given to him for the loss of the Battle of Britain, he as a technical leader, Generalfeldzeugmeister of the Luftwaffe, had "failed"

and he took the consequences. The official statement was that Generaloberst Udet had been killed while testing a new aircraft, he was given a state funeral. His grave can be seen today at the Invalidenfriedhof in Berlin, it was restored some years after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
