Looks very interesting. No idea what it could be. Could it be something to do with ordonnance, a powder measure or weight? You should try to enquire at some museums. I'm sure somebody would know. Also the markings should be some indication. Apparently of cast iron?

Yes I though it could be a weight of some kind but it was the markings on it that intrigued me, it weighs just under an ounce and the size of an old

half penny and 4mm deep it could be brass made or iron.

It doesn't look like brass in the picture. Try a magnet - I'm quite sure it is iron
