Kenny Andrew
They are really well painted for 15mm, great find !
Fritz
They are absolutely perfect, strangely enough, they were each wrapped in paper and packed in a carton since 2003. Very likely a donation from the Reservistenverband, but unfortunately nobody knows any more, as there is no documentation.
Kenny Andrew
They are really nice, are they actually only 15mm in height? That's amazing detail to get on such small figures.
Fritz
Yes, the figures are 15mm, the horses are the same scale. I did some painting to Aifrix WW1 German infantry and some others many years ago, I had a very narrow fine brush. I included all details as buttons, piping etc., even some of the helmets I detailed without covers. Also the shoulder straps with the red numbers and the coloured piping.

Fritz
A visitor found this item buried in his garden along with some old glass bottles from around 1918, he cleaned it slightly. A centre piece of a belt buckle with the Imperial Crown, dating from 1871-1895, nickel, darkened, with much patina and some light oxidation to the rear. As worn by the Kaiserliche Marine and colonial troops. He may donate this object to the museum at a later date.

Fritz
Just ordered for the Museum. Kriegsdenkmünze 1813-1814 (Napoleonic Wars), original in good condition – Ribbon missing, will have to be replaced with a copy, as original ribbons from this date are extremely hard to find. This was priced at only 70,- which is not much for a medal over 200 years old. They are also getting harder to find. These were issued to all combattants of the Prussian army, but also an many Russians and other allies, even Wellington. Further examples from my own collection. Medals were issued for following dates: 1813 1813-1814 1814 1815 (Waterloo) The edge is stamped: AUS EROBERTEM GESCHUTZ, as these were from the bronze of captured French cannons. Non combattants received an oval blackened iron medal with a different inscription and on a white ribbon. The first series of medals was minted in Paris in 1814 and have rounded cross ends. The second series was made in the Berliner Eisengießerei (as in photo).

Fritz
Undated photo found in the archive. Some important documents, long found missing, were discovered today in a safe in the Museum, found was a list compiled in 2008 by Herr Faerber, amongst these are the diaries of Wilhelm Dölken, ca. 255 typed pages in photocopies. Photo quality is not good, as the lighting conditions were also poor.
