Here, a selection of edged weapons pre 1945, all in above average condition.

The HJ Knife is by Robert Klaas, early manufacture, hilt is nickel-plated iron

The Police sidearm is by F.W.Höller, Solingen, early manufacture, good nickel silver fittings

The parade bayonet has no maker marks. Nickel-plated iron fittings

The Army Dagger is by W.K.C. Wartime manufacture, zinc fittings

The Luftwaffe Dagger is by Fridericus, Solingen. Early war, Aluminium fittings

And two patent leather bayonet frogs for the parade bayonet. Patent leather becomes a problem with age. They become difficult to restore.

WH Officer's Dagger, zinc fittings, almost perfect blade by W.K.C., better than the rest of the fittings, which have darkened and with zinc corrosion in some places.

A  wartime production SA dagger by Henckels,  marked  RZM  M7/10  1941 .   Condition very good.  Grip with brown enamel SA button and aluminium eagle.  Fittings are nickel-plated zinc, with some slight zinc corrosion under some of the edges. Brown painted scabbard with one slight dent, minimal scratches on paint finish.

Some further close-ups of Luftwaffe 2nd patt. Dagger by Fridericus, Solingen. Aluminium fittings. The steel grip ring has suffered some corrosion and overpainted in silver by a previous owner. Original gilding of swastikas still good.

An early HJ Fahrtenmesser by Robert Klaas, Solingen. Nickel plated iron fittings with some wear, repolished, slightly loose blade with logo of manufacturer and much wear, leather blade washer is a replacement. Thin leather suspension loop with plain polished iron press stud. Grip with enamel HJ Salmi. Scabbard with much original finish. Better than the later zinc-fitted examples.

Early Police sidearm by F.W. Höller, Solingen. Heavy German silver fittings, no fitting for a rifle. Staghorn grips with aluminium rivets and silver alloy police eagle, slightly darkened. The blackened leather scabbard has an iron core and has been bent at some stage then restraightened, leaving a split to the rear seam. Blade with slight loss of nickel plating towards the tip The rear of the crossguard is stamped: SB.4344., as also the scabbard throat, Schutzpolizei Berlin, weapon no. 4344, matched numbers (nummerngleich).  Probably a war souvenir, purchased in England some years ago.
