Channel island Wehrpass

Josef Cyrys was with Gren. Reg. 582. Rations office, so not very exciting. He was awarded the KVK2, but most on the islands were. It's more unusual/rare to see no awards. Anyway, the CI's were a result of a posting than most received. He spent most of his service there, Jersey, Sark etc. Although not frontline, any CI stuff is of more interest to us Brits. Stewy

Cheers Leon, I think I've heard of that book. There are a few others high on my list before I think about getting that one. But thanks for reminding me. Stewy

Good morning Stewy,

As a collector of soldbuch and wehrpass from the Channel Islands and living in Jersey, I was pleased to see the one you have shown. Please could you let me know if you are going to be selling the book on now or in the future as I would be more than interested. I collect all and any original items from German troops who were stationed in the Kanalinseln, Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Sark, Herm. Any paperwork is of interest along with photo's as it help piece together the story of our Islands 5 years of German Occupation.

All the best from Jersey,

D.

Hi Damian,

Welcome to the forum  sorry I had to edit your post as the forum rules do not allow trading on the forum boards , however you are perfectly welcome to contact Stewy via the forum personal messenger, we prefer no sales are done on the main boards.

On a sadder note, Davie who used to visit you every year sadly passed away in 2012, he always spoke very highly of you.

David Flanagan 1958 - 2012 RIP
David served in the Royal Highland Fusiliers as an Infantryman after leaving the Army he joined the Prison Service.
While serving in Barlinnie Prison he was captured by inmates during the mass riots of 1987 images of him were beamed around the world as the rioters threatened to throw him off the roof of Barlinnie Prison.
David later left the Prison service due to ill health and came to work with us at The Treasure Bunker. He was the backbone of the business throughout the 1990's.
Despite kidney failure and latterly cancer he was always smiling and never depressed. We were all very saddened to hear he had passed away last week.It was an honour to know him, he will be very sadly missed.

Hi Kenny,

Thanks for putting me straight.... no problem with that for sure.

I do remember Davie, a lovely bloke and he knew his stuff alright. As you say sad news indeed.

All the best,

D
