During the great war,

the potteries were finding it hard to survive, so they turned to doing war inspired crested china,

from pistols to statues of Edith Cavell,

and bombs to lighthouses

as seen by the Scarborough lighthouse china model

based on actual damage suffered in ww1

there were stacks of potteries making these seaside souvenirs,

so I wont go into the ins and outs as it would take a book to do them justice,

so I will leave you with a taster of the items they produced back then
