leon21
I'm sure most of you will have seen these Allied banknotes before, but did you know that there were two types of prints. although they look the same there are small difference's. Here's how to spot who printed which notes. The notes bear the year of issue in 1944 and were printed before the invasion by the Allies, the U.S.A. and Russia after the USSR demanded that they should be allowed to print them also. The U.S.A. notes has a hidden letter ( F ) for the Forbes Lithograph Company who printed them. The USSR notes does not have the letter ( F ) but instead has a dash before the 8-digit control number. Here are a few examples I've done for you.
