Submarines British 4 ( Thistle, Tarpon, Sterlet, Shark, ).

Submarines Allied 2 ( Orzel, ( Polish ), 0-13 ( Dutch ).

Sloop 1 ( Bittern ).

 

Total Lost ( 19 ).............Damaged ( 7 ) plus 1 Damaged Submarine ( Seal ) captured by German air-sea rescue patrol.

I always found the northern sea battle interesting - if only for the fact that they seem little known and it was one of the few places the German fleet did operate surface vessels. That said, the British losses were pretty appalling considering it was close to home ports.
