Total Lost ( 19 ).............Damaged ( 7 ) plus 1 Damaged Submarine ( Seal ) captured by German air-sea rescue patrol. German Naval Loses during campaign. Cruisers 3 ( Blucher,Karlsruhe, Konigsberg ). Destroyers 10 ( Anton Schmitt, Bernd von Arnim, Dieter von Roeder, Erich Greise, Erich Koellner, Georg Thiele, Hans Ludemann, Hermann Kunne, Wilhelm Heidkamp, Wolfgang Zenker. U-Boats 7 ( U-1, U-22, U-44, U-49, U-50, U-54, U-64. Gunnery Training Ship 1 ( Brummer ). Torpedo Boat 1 ( Albatros ). Total Lost ( 22 )............Damaged ( 6 ) Transport Ships Lost ( 13 ).. 1 Quote
Greg Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 I always found the northern sea battle interesting - if only for the fact that they seem little known and it was one of the few places the German fleet did operate surface vessels. That said, the British losses were pretty appalling considering it was close to home ports. 2 Quote
