A contemporary history book for school classes, this is part 1 for an introduction. It skims over all the main historical events of major importance, and begins at the present with the most recent events and the successes at the beginning of WW2. It is well illustrated with photos and prints. It was published in 1942 by Moritz Diesterweg in Frankfurt/M and was for "higher schools" and Gymnasium (grammer schools). These books were removed and prohibited by the Allies after the war ended. This example found at a flea market in North London in the early 1970s.
