here is another set ,complete with minature version for wear on civilian clothes.

This is for the DSF or the DEUTSCHE SOWJETISCHE FREUNDSCHAFT to give it it's full title.

The Germman siviet friendship was an organisation that tried to forge links betweenEast Germany and the Soviet Union.

This is the gold version of the award.

I am now trying to track down the silver version cased, along with the urkunde for both.

I can get the siver one uncased, and blank urkunde, but i would prefer to get it cased along with urkunde that had been filled in.

1.here is the case.Note the embossed logo on the front

and the final one for today.

I tink that this is refered to as a table medal.

This was awarded to members of the first regiment on their 30th aniversary .

here is the really bad case that it comes in

Apart from the fact that it could do with a really good clean  it is made of plastic and is of poor quality.

Nice collection.

I used to collect Warsaw Pact stuff in the late 80s and eraly 90s.

It was amazing the difference in quality. Some were very nice enamelled badges and some were very cheaply made even medals and awards!

I know what you are talking about.

I have some which are really good quality, normaly the earlier ones, but the later ones where absolute crap.

the stuff that was getting awarded before the wall came down was rubbish.

  • 10 years later...

The main reason for that was the failing economy
