regiment739
Hi all, another buckle has arrived for me today, a nice injection molded police buckle. One of the prongs is broken but these are so hard to get hold of beggars cannot be choosers! Just found out the buckle is made of Zamak, a alloy developed in the thirties. If you tried to inject mold aluminium it would come out like tar so they developed this Zamak which liquifies so can be poured/injected easier. In the UK its nickname was monkey metal. Maker more than likely Richard Seiper & Sohne Ludenscheid.
