Heres a few pictures of U-124s crew wearing the Army pattern Edelweiss cap emblem chosen as the crews semi-official emblem.

It was a popular emblem worn by crews of U-Boats and other sea-going vessels, usually by those who had taken part in the

Norwegian campaign, especially Narvik. Were many of the sailors had to fight on the ground along side the Mountain Troops after

thier ships had been sunk.post-3823-0-55509500-1347623694_thumb.jpgpost-3823-0-37915500-1347623730_thumb.jpgpost-3823-0-94748300-1347623757_thumb.jpg

I have a panzer peaked cap with this emblem on it, I thought there was already a picture of it on the forum, but can't seem to find it, will take some pictures of it when I get a spare moment :)

Never got a chance to photo it Fritz and now it is sadly sold, was picked up by a Canadian solder who got it from some one at the Falaise Gap. Wish I still had it, it was in lovely condition apart from a big burn hole to the top of the cap which is why I sold it. The hole was probably caused by burning coming though the open hatch.
