The smaller one is a 20mm shell casing that i put in the picture to show just how big the 105mm casing is.

leon21
Here's my 20mm cannon shell casing Stamped B.M.A.R.C. 1940 20mmIZ. "BMARC" = ( British Manufacturing and Research Co. ) of Springfield Rd Grantham Lincolnshire. A subsidiary of Hispano-Suiza. developed and produced the 20mm Aircraft Cannon, at the time of the Battle of Britain in 1940 it's 20mm cannons were only just starting to be fitted and arm the Spitfire and Hurricane Aircraft. By 1943 the RAF had converted entirely to cannon armament for it's fighters, the mark IZ not sure if this donates the type of cordite/powder fill used or the type of bullet head used ie - Tracer ?.
Greg
IZ defines the cordite/powder type
